Lenten Meal Plan

February 23, 2023 by Destinie Winn in Lent, Resources for Families

Finding fast-friendly recipes for lent can be a challenge. In collaboration with Orthodox Home, we present the first Lenten Meal Plan! Our hope is to take some of the mental load of deciding what to cook and ultimately save you some precious time, money and energy. These recipes were developed with a (mostly) whole-foods based diet in mind, with a diversity of foods the whole family will be sure to enjoy! We carefully considered what ingredients were included so you can find them at any normal grocery store.

This meal plan is a 38 pages download (printable) which includes:

  • 7 Weeks of Weekly Dinner Plans

  • Weekly Grocery Lists

  • Fast-Friendly Recipes

  • Feast Day Recipes

**Additional Notes: Each week we've included 6 main dishes for dinner (and 2 bonus recipes for special feast days). This allows one day per week that needs to be accounted for, perhaps by using up leftovers or having a meal out! You decide! Each recipe feeds a family of 4-6, so adjust quantities accordingly depending on your family size. Every main dish has an optional side vegetable or salad. Feel free to skip or substitute to what your family likes best. The weekly plan includes 1 soup, 1 crock pot, 1 taco, 1 potato, 1 pasta, 1 bowl recipe. To simplify the menu, weeks 1 & 5, 2&6, 3&7 are repeated. If you liked a certain week more than others, feel free to duplicate those weeks instead. The hope is to simplify your pantry list + cooking skills so you’re not making 40 new recipes! Less is usually more.

We've also created a supplemental Breakfast/Lunch meal plan to accompany this meal plan. Available separately in the shop! There is also a bundle option available which will save you a few bucks.

This 28 page download (printable) includes:

  • Breakfast, lunch, dessert and snack recipes

  • Blank shopping list and meal planning grid

  • Fast-friendly recipes

  • Additional ideas for fasting meals

  • Feast day recipes for Annunciation, Palm Sunday and Lazarakia (Lazarus Saturday)

You can find this meal plan in my store, or you can click on the listings below:

We pray this is a blessing to you and your family as you struggle well through Lent! I know we personally plan to use this plan, so I am very excited to have a little prep work out of the way before we begin. Good Strength!
