January Liturgical Guide Printable for Orthodox Families

December 31, 2022 by Destinie Winn in Printables, January

Christ is born! Glorify Him! Start off the new year right with an intentional plan to incorporate the liturgical life into your home, with a few simple additions. Living our faith in a modern world is not easy, so my hope is to provide a simple one page monthly guide to assist you through some “bite sized” traditions and ideas, so you can spend less time figuring out what to do, and spend more living liturgically. Here’s what you’ll find:

Each Month Includes :

  • Important dates in the Orthodox Church Calendar and a few reminders of common traditions associated so you know what's coming up and plan accordingly

  • BONUS - this month I added an additional page for the Vasilopita recipe

  • One saint focus for the month - this month learn all about St Basil (Jan 1st)

  • Family Corner - building family culture takes intention, so we've included a simple ideas for the whole family to enjoy - and who knows, it might even become a yearly tradition for you!

  • Activity - one of the best ways to help kids engage in the Liturgical Calendar is by bringing the stories to life! Making those connections outside of church can be really helpful so when they are in church for the services they can make those connections in the Liturgy, icons, and hymnography. And don't worry, you don't have to be a “crafty” parent to do these activities. This month, prepare a glass or plastic jar to bring with you to Theophany so you can have a beautiful jar ready for your holy water!

  • Song - let's learn one song a month, shall we? By singing the hymn weekly, you'll begin to familiarize yourself with it so by the time you hear it sung in church, you'll already have it written in your heart ❤️ the Liturgical Hymns hold the meaning behind each Feasts, so learning them will be a great joy

I hope you enjoy this print. I put my heart into it, hoping that families would be encouraged to live the Orthodox faith confidently, knowing our Hope is found in the Lord.

I have printables available in both old and new calendar, and a bulk print option for churches and schools. Print will be on sale for a few days so purchase your copy before the discount rate expires!

A brand new printable is here for the month of October! Each liturgical year, I always hope to gain a little more understanding of the Orthodox faith, and learn to live more deeply in the Orthodox traditions as a family. As we progress through this year, my goal is to continue to take the bite size pieces to add onto our homeschooling and daily life.

Do you want to share this with your parish and/or school? Now available for download for bulk printing!

As a priest wife and mother, I create these resources with my parish and own home in mind. Last month I was able to share it with my own parish, which was so sweet! It’s really something to see something I’ve put so much time in being enjoyed by others! This last month I was contacted by an Orthodox school and a few parishes about wanting to share this print with their communities. I was thrilled and encouraged by the response!! Previously I didn’t have a listing option set up for bulk distribution, so this month I created one. These resources take a lot of time to put together, so I appreciate your purchase for ‘bulk print’ if you intend to distribute this to your parish or school.

Other Download Options Available for October:

This listing is intended for bulk printing and distribution for your parish or school.

Old Calendar (OS) This print is intended for a single family home.
