DIY Pressed Flowers

I love major feast days, and I especially love any feast day that honors our Most Holy Theotokos! On March 25th, exactly 9 months until Christmas, the Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Annunciation - when the Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was chosen to carry and give birth to our Lord. This is a very special feast in our calendar year so we wanted to do something special.

We made these DIY Pressed Flower Stickers:

Supplies:

- Wax paper (or parchment paper)
- Clear packing tape
- Pressed flowers

Lay down wax paper and cover it with a single layer of clear packing tape. Then lay the pressed flowers down on top of the packing tape, in a single layer and cover with packing tape. Simply cut them out and peel the wax paper off to reveal your DIY pressed flower sticker!

Extra:

We wrote prayer letters to the Theotokos with the names of those who we are praying for. I wanted a special way to honor her and also ask for her intercessions. My kids really loved this project and it would be simple and easy to do with other things like leaves, feathers, or other flat items.

I hope you give it a try! This can be done with anything flat like leaves, feathers, and flowers. The possibilities are endless! I pray you have a blessed feast!
